My 4-year-old met the mayor. She thought he made the snow.
Season four of Pretty Funny Business is here.
We spent the off-season at MOps-Apalooza, where we retired the tattoo booth (exclusive while it lasted, never happening again), installed a ball pit, lost a slide to a fire marshal named Dylan, stocked a hotel bathroom with miniature CVS toiletries, and somehow cast our mascot Lady Emerald Effington via a chance airport reunion in baggage claim.
It went well.
Also this episode: Lauren’s four-year-old daughter Ellie was personally selected for New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani’s press conference. She thought he made the snow. A staffer took the sign out of her hand. Her hand remained suspended in midair. And everything that happened next is an almost perfect lesson in B2B marketing contract response time, audience segmentation, and knowing when to let someone hold the sign.
There’s also a dream about a ball pit that we would like to be clear was just a dream.
Listen wherever you get your podcasts.
Good luck out there. Season four, baby.
