Lauren’s in-laws bought her youngest horseback riding lessons for her birthday. Lovely gift. Extremely expensive hobby. She told her, straight to her face,”I hope you hate it.”
She loved it. Obviously. But we cannot fit horse back riding on top of a five-day, non-overlapping dance company schedule and a saxophone tryout for jazz band, because apparently band is required curriculum now. If you need to, you can say “I hope you hate it” about soccer too. Nobody hates anything. We are all just doing everything, forever.
Also this episode: the sleepover that started with “just a couple friends” and ended with five kids and a Vitamix running at 4am, the sneaker injury nobody will explain to their pediatrician, and Sydney’s nanny quitting to go perform in The Polar Express.
There is also a car and a daycare involved. We are not getting into it.
